GEPLANTES PROGRAMM ALS ERSTE INFO

ay 1: 05 Nov. (Tue.): 

  • Arrival at Cairo Airport.
  • Meet and assist through customs and formalities.
  • Transfer to the hotel.
  • Overnight in Cairo.

 

Day 2: 06 Nov. (Wed.):

  • After breakfast transfer to visit Old Coptic Cairo. The Church of St Sergius. This church is the oldest and most unique of the churches in Old Cairo, founded in the 5th century. Its main attraction is crypt claimed to be the place where the Holy Family stayed during their Egyptian exile.
  • Visit Coptic Museum (Nag Hammadi Writings)
  • Visit Ben Ezra synagogue is the supreme Jewish monument in Cairo. It is not the only synagogue, but it is the most used. It no longer has a rabbi, but is maintained by 42 local Jewish families.t Legends claim that the synagogue is built on the spot where pharaoh's daughter found Moses in the bulrushes and where Jeremiah spoke to survivors after the destruction of Jerusalem by Nebuchadnezzar.
  • Then transfer to visit the NMEC – National Museum of Egyptian Civilization and see the mummies chamber (Pharaos)
  • Dinner and overnight in Cairo.

 

Day 3: 07 Nov. (Thu.):

  • After breakfast transfer to visit the Old Egyptian Museum located in downtown Cairo.
  • Visit the Cave Church; a big church set in a big cave at the heart of Mokatam Hill. It is located by one of Cairo’s garbage collectors area, where there are about 50,000 Christians living on manual garbage separation.
  • Fly to Luxor.
  • Dinner and overnight in Luxor.

 

Day 4: 08 Nov. (Fri.):

  • After breakfast transfer to visit Karnak Temple. Walk among the pillars of the temple dedicated to the god Amun Ra and along the avenue of the Sphinxes at Karnak.
  • Then transfer to visit Luxor Temple.
  • Dinner and overnight in Luxor.

 

Day 5: 09 Nov. (Sat.):

  • After breakfast, drive to the west side of Luxor: explore the great Valley of the Kings where generations of Pharaohs were buried in crypts under the pyramid-shaped mountain (Tomb Tut-Anch-Amun)
  • Then transfer to visit Deir El-Bahri Temple of Hatshepsut.          
  • Visit the Ramesseum, the funerary temple of Ramesses II and see the colossal Ozymandius statue, and mudbrick storehouses.                                                                      
  • Dinner and overnight in Luxor.

 

Day 6: 10 Nov. (Sun.):

  • After breakfast transfer to visit Madinat Habu Temple of Ramesses III.
  • Visit Deir el-Madiah Temple, then theValley of the Queens.
  • Fly to Cairo.
  • Dinner and overnight in Cairo.

 

Day 7: 11 Nov. (Mon.):

  • After breakfast transfer to visit the New Grand Egyptian museum. (Hoping it would have been finally opened by then 😊!)
  • Dinner and overnight in Cairo.

 

Day 8: 12 Nov. (Tue.):

  • After breakfast transfer to visit the Pyramids of Cheops, Chefren & Mikarinus. Drive through the Pyramids Plateau, arriving to the Sphinx, a giant one stone statue with a man’s head and a lion’s body, representing the divine power and wisdom of the pharaohs.
  • Then transfer to visit Saqqara Step Pyramid, built by King Zoser, of the third dynasty. Visit a papyrus shop.
  • Dinner and overnight in Cairo.

 

Day 9: 13 Nov. (Tue.):

  • Visit land of Goshen.
  • Transfer to Ismailia.
  • Dinner and overnight at Ismailia.

 

Day 10: 14 Nov. (Wed.):

  • After breakfast, transfer to St. Catherine. (about 6 hours’ drive.)
  • Dinner and overnight in St Catherine Monastery guest house.

 

Day 11: 15 Nov. (Thu.):

  • 01.30 Start to climb Sinai Mountain.
  • 08.00 Breakfast at the guest house.
  • First visit of the Monastery and of the Museum (Codex Sinaiticus, Codex Syriacus)
  • Dinner and overnight in St. Catherine.

 

Day 12: 16 Nov. (Fri.):

  • VIP Visit St. Catherine (world famous Library with the Librarian Father Justin)
  • climb Djebel St. Catherine
  • Dinner and overnight in St Catherine.

 

Day 13: 17 Nov. (Sat.):

  • Morning transfer to Sharm El-Sheikh.
  • Free day by the beach to relax by the beach.
  • Dinner and overnight in Sharm.

 

Day 14: 18 Nov. (Sun.):

  • Morning transfer to Sharm Airport for final departure to Germany from SSH
